In Memory of Tom Brooks

ACCI is saddened to share with you that Thomas M. Brooks, ACCI President 1970-71, and husband of ACCI Member, Brenda Cude, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Tom was retired from Southern Illinois University where he was professor of Family Economics and Management. An avid historian, he contributed extensive materials from his research into the life of Colston Warne to form the Brooks Collection which is part of the Consumer Movement Archives (CMA) at Kansas State University. We were so pleased to see Tom recently at the 50th Anniversary of the Journal of Consumer Affairs (pictured above). A favorite photo of Tom with Esther Peterson in the 1960s when Tom was president of the Connecticut Consumer Association, a photo from the 1980s, and a more recent photo will help us all remember our colleague and friend.
